====== Adding External Playlists ====== Mezzmo supports reading popular playlist formats - M3U, PLS, WPL and ZPL. The playlist file can either be from disk or from web sites. **Examples:** * \\NAS001\Music\MixTape.m3u * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY4p8QBQevc&list=PLn3399nFJ6-dsLkh-X1cvqZMSNHGH_Shv There are two ways of adding content from external playlists into your Mezzmo library: * By creating a linked playlist that dynamically reads the contents from the external playlist (recommended). * Or, by simply importing the contents from an external playlist file. ===== Creating a Linked Playlist ===== - Click **Create Playlist -> Linked Playlist** toolbar item.\\ {{:linkedplaylistproperties.png?nolink|Linked Playlist Properties dialog)}} - On the Linked Playlist Properties dialog, enter the location of your playlist file (either on disk or a playlist URL) into the **Playlist filename/URL** edit box. - Give your linked playlist a **name** (e.g. "Mixtape of dance music") - If you regularly update this playlist file on disk or the playlist URL changes content often, then set the **Check playlist for new files every** so that Mezzmo automatically keeps your playlist up-to-date for you. - Click **OK** to save your linked playlist. - Mezzmo will analyze the playlist file or URL and add the files/URLs that it finds into your Mezzmo library. - You will see your new linked playlist item in the tree in your Mezzmo library. Clicking on it will display all the files found in your linked playlist. **Tip:** Linked playlists are a great way to subscribe to your favorite web channels or playlists - such as YouTube channels and playlists. ===== Importing files from an external playlist file ===== - Click **Add To Library -> Add Files From External Playlist** toolbar item. - Select your external playlist file on disk and click **OK**. - Mezzmo will analyze the playlist file and add the files that it finds into your Mezzmo library. **Note:** Importing the files from an external playlist only happens the one time. Mezzmo will not check the playlist file for further changes. If you want Mezzmo to check the playlist file for regular changes, then you should use a linked playlist.
