====== Controlling metadata and artwork collection ======

Mezzmo automatically collects text metadata, poster artwork and backdrop artwork for your media files.  It collects metadata and artwork from a variety of sources:

  * Text metadata from the file paths of media files.
  * Text metadata and artwork embedded in media files.
  * Text metadata and artwork in external metadata files.
  * Text metadata and artwork from online web sites.

You can configure what text metadata and artwork is collected using the **Metadata Retrieval Settings** dialog.  You can access this dialog by clicking the **Metadata Retrieval Settings** button on the **Options dialog (Retrieving Metadata page)**.

**Note:** Any changes you make in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog will be applied to new files that you add into your Mezzmo library or when you use the **Maintain Library** dialog.

===== Manually getting text metadata and artwork for movies and TV shows =====

If Mezzmo has not collected the correct text metadata and artwork, then you can try to find the correct text metadata and artwork manually using the **Get Online Video Metadata** dialog.  

Right-click on the video and click **Properties**.  On the Properties dialog, click the **Get Online Video Metadata** button.
